I've carved you out of our promise tree where we used to rest with our fingers interlaced and you out of the blue said "Silvanus has granted, our memories evergreen," and I saw on your face a grin and your cheeks flushed red on your shining brown skin. I pray you still see me in the leaves fluttering to the ground, somewhere you now live far from this once-lively now so bleak of a place, far from this wilderness where you have left me unaccompanied. 2020, Sept 14.
